Please find attached your Club’s invitation to our second Examiners workshop of 2018 taking place on Saturday 8th September near Yatton ( Somerset), along with the agenda for the day. Could you please forward this e-mail and its attachments to all your Club’s Examiners and Instructors as well as to any candidates you may be considering for those positions.
Also we will have a few places available for anyone about to take a “BPC”, “A” or “B” test who wishes to learn more, and if time permits maybe even the opportunity to take their test later on the day. Fixed wing, helicopter and multi-rotor can be accommodated.
My contact details (changed from previous events) are in the attachments, would attendees please register in advance and ensure they provide a mobile phone number in case of late cancellation due to poor weather.
Please ensure your Club Committee is aware of this event.
Kindly note that a prime objective of these workshops is to ensure consistency of standards across the Area and similarly the country. I therefore think it is important that all existing Club Examiners attend one of these workshops every few years so as to keep up to date with the current test schedules and the standards required. Whilst I appreciate that all Examiners are volunteers it is important that all test candidates are treated fairly and consistently (i.e. current/correct test schedule, no easy ride but not hard done by). Please also consider these workshops to be a fun day out with an opportunity to see other Clubs/flyers and enjoy a free lunch!
It is important that attendees register in advance so as to ensure there is sufficient catering, as well as providing a mobile phone number please in case of late cancellation.
Note:- This event is open to interested parties from ANY Area, not just the Western Area.
The initial procedure for Clubs to follow to appoint a new Club Examiner can be found by downloading the BMFA RC Achievement Scheme Handbook from the website http://achievements.bmfa.org, with our Area Co-ordinator contact being myself. The process that will subsequently be followed by the assigned Area Chief Examiner can be found in the “Guidance for Chief Examiners” document which candidates should download from the same website.
Please note that it is NOT an objective of this workshop to test potential examiners, as that in itself could take about half a day. But their involvement in and preparedness for the workshop will be observed!
